Hiring Process
We have implemented a rigorous hiring process, ensuring that qualified and dedicated individuals join our team. Candidates will complete the following steps:
- Submit resume.
- Complete phone screening.
- Resume + phone screen evaluation by HR Director.
- Receive in-person interview with HR Director.
- Complete written and practical examinations.
- Physical fitness assessment.
- Obtain background check and applicant paid-for drug screen.
NOTE: Background checks will be ongoing throughout employment. - Attend team interview.
- In-person interview with Coach Brown.
Current Openings
Health & Fitness Specialist
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Supervises and monitors exercise participants for safety and efficacy.
- Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results; designs individualized programs to meet the participant’s interests, abilities, and goals.
- Provides one-on-one consulting, training, and motivation.
- Provides instruction for small and large group classes.
- Provides individual exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.
- Demonstrates appropriate professional conduct by complying with applicable standards to provide quality personal training services. For example, complies with the NASM Standards of Professional Practice & Code of Ethics or the NSCA Strength & Conditioning Professional Standards and Guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
- Researches health & fitness educational topics and identifies appropriate participant educational materials; conducts health education seminars/presentations.
- Participates in membership drives to acquire new participants; enrolls new participants and conducts orientations.
- Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants.
- Performs facility maintenance responsibilities as needed; ensures facility, equipment, and locker rooms are clean and stocked at all times.
- Ensures personal and facility appearance meet standards.
- Verifies equipment is operating properly and immediately reports any potentially unsafe conditions.
- Maintains participant files and database.
- Projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
- NSCA, NASM, or ACSM certification prefered (or must have within six months of hire).
- Current First Aid / CPR certifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceedingly high motivation and energy level.
- Strong people skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage a multi-task environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong focus on customer service.
Additional requirements include:
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the Caregiver Background Check as set forth in the Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter DHS 12.
- All applicants will have to pass a written and practical assessment specific to training philosophy protocols and technique as part of the interview process.
