Underground Functional Fitness partners with Muscle Performance Diagnostic Academy to provide customized sports performance testing
MENASHA, Wis.- Underground Functional Fitness (UFF) is partnering with Muscle Performance Diagnostic Academy (MPD Academy), based out of Green Bay, to provide customized sports performance testing. UFF is currently the only fitness center in the United States to have access to the MPD Academy equipment. This highly scientific system is provided by Wolfgang Weiler, a former coach of the Austrian Olympic Ski Team.
The testing takes about an hour and uses the diagnosis station MLD-Evo3 to measure how fast an athlete initiates motion, the amount of force produced when movement is initiated and how long power is maintained. The system uses highly scientific software to gather data by jumping with and without weighted loads.
Testing is able to give a performance diagnosis of power and strength for muscles in complex movements. From the testing, the Underground team will be able to provide the athlete with recommendations and a training plan. Testing can help:
· Develop/improve current athletes
· Monitor incoming professional athletes for drafts and free agent athletes
· Select the best athletes for games
· Prevent injuries before they occur
· Injury rehab (rehab will be provided only by licensed physical therapist)
· Prevent reoccurring injuries
Testing is now open and available to high school, collegiate and elite athletes. Athletes can get more information or sign up for testing by calling Underground Functional Fitness at (920) 729-8211.
ABOUT THE MPD SYSTEM
The system was developed 15 years ago with a team of sports scientists from Austria, Switzerland and Germany and millions of dollars of investment using only elite professional athletes for testing. Last year the MPD System was implemented in Red Bull’s state of the art trainings center in Salzburg, Austria. This facility was specifically built for professional and Olympic athletes sponsored by Red Bull who use this machine as their quality control system. The Austrian Ski Team has been using this device in their training regime for the past 10 years and has produced over 50 world champions and Olympic medal winners. Recently the Swiss National Soccer team and the German National Ski Jumping team have used the MPD system in their daily training regiment.
